The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Express Displeasure About Size Updates

Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.

The popular resale platform has updated its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel without notifying every member regarding the update.

Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed because of the remapping.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms.

It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.

Size Classification Modifications

Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

User Accounts

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she said.

Necessary Adjustments

Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".

"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she stated.

The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.

It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: last year, the platform withdrew an update to its shipping options following member complaints.
